Black & Decker's cordless trimmer uses a .065-inch-diameter cutting line rather than a sharp blade to hack away overgrown grass with enhanced safety. The trimmer cuts an 8-inch breadth for fine pruning and includes a feed system bump to permit the line to move cleanly. To prevent unintentional start up, the trimmer includes an automatic lock-off switch. The trimmer's charger may be wall mounted for convenient trimmer storage while simultaneously recharging. The trimmer should be charged for 24 hours prior to initial use and should recharged regularly. Simple two-step assembly is required. The Lithium-Ion Advantage
The 21602 can be powered by a 6.0-Ah lithium-ion battery (included) or a 2.6-Ah lithium-ion battery (a light-weight option--not included). The included battery is compatible with all Greenworks lithium-ion products, and it provides up to 45 minutes of use per charge--up to three times longer runtime than comparable nickel-cadmium batteries and up to 2,000 cycles. This long-lasting battery also maintains consistent power, so you won't be disturbed by power lapses or surges. And because lithium-ion batteries are recyclable and are manufactured without heavy metals.
Charger Reduces Energy Usage by 35 Percent
Thanks to the wall-mountable charger, the 21602's battery charges to full power in 4.5 hours. Best of all, the charger is Energy Star rated, which means it has been shown by the EPA to reduce energy usage by an average of 35 percent from conventional yard tools. Plus, you can charge the battery any time without any negative memory effect.

We found the Edge Hog has plenty of power in its 2-1/4-horsepower motor for both edging and trenching, and it's easy to switch from one to the other by simply raising or lowering the edge guide. The edger weighs only 12 pounds, which allows for easy transportation and great maneuverability around curved paths, but makes it more difficult to maintain a straight line when you're tackling a lawn that hasn't been edged in a while. If you're digging out quite a bit of dirt along with the edge you're creating, it takes some effort to keep the unit stable.
Undoing a screw toward the front of the edger and raising or lowering its leading wheel easily adjusts the depth of the edge groove you're making along with your edge. The unit can also be adjusted to fit the height of the user more comfortably by changing the angle on the guide handle. The blade requires only a pull of the trigger to start instantly and, unlike many gas models, stops as soon as the trigger is released---an important safety feature.
